Notification of suspected health hazard
If you suspect that your apartment has health hazards, it is recommended that you first contact the property manager. If water and mould damage is visible, the defects must be rectified as soon as possible. If you suspect that your apartment has health hazards, it is recommended that you first contact the property manager. If water and mould damage is visible, the defects must be rectified as soon as possible.
You can turn to health surveillance if the owner of the apartment has not repaired the damage despite your request or if the repairs have been inadequate. A physician may also give a recommendation for a house inspection. Inspections related to the change of residence or other condition are not carried out by health surveillance. The environmental health inspector prepares an inspection report on the inspection, in which recommendations for measures, repair orders or restrictions related to the use of the apartment can be issued to the owner of the apartment. In schools and day-care centres, inspections are carried out every three years and when a potential health hazard is suspected.
Proceed as follows
Notify primarily the owner or holder of the premises in question of suspected health hazards. With regard to housing, you can also report a suspected health hazard to the housing company or housing manager.
If the owner or holder of the premises does not take your notification into account, or if you disagree about the necessary measures, you can submit a notification to the health protection authority in your municipality.
If a suspected health hazard is related to your own food sector company, submit a notification in the ilppa notification service.
